Session and live guitarist based in Madrid

My story

INICIOS

I was born in Ourense but raised in Pontevedra; there was always music and instruments in my house because my father is a musician (he plays the piano), and my uncle plays both the guitar and the piano. For this reason, when I started to take an interest in music, and specifically in the guitar, I had my father's Spanish guitar at hand to start experimenting with it.

Influencias

My main inspiration and motivation to explore and improve was rock in all its forms: 60s rock, such as The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, etc.; 70s rock, like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Jeff Beck, Lynyrd Skynyrd, AC/DC, Ramones, and a long etc.; 80s rock, like Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, The Police, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Georgia Satellites, Judas Priest, etc.; and 90s rock, such as Extreme, The Black Crowes, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, and many more. Over the years, I became interested in many other genres, like black music in all its forms (funk, soul, blues, RnB), country, boleros, or flamenco.

Beginning of My Musical Career in Galicia

I have been playing, recording, and touring with bands since I was 18. During my years in Galicia (before moving to Madrid), I played with Sugar Mountain, 1000 Demonios Blues Band, Voltage, Querido Extraño, Cora Velasco, Fifty Fifty Blues Band, Shoubinhas, The Funkles (a Beatles tribute band with which we played in Liverpool, Germany, Finland, Russia, etc.), Immaculate Fools, Basanta, Point Panic (surf instrumental), Oscar Avendaño, Adam Giles Levy, etc., and collaborated with Dixie Town, Burning, Dan Baird, Julián Maeso, etc.

Arrival in Madrid

In September 2017, I moved to Madrid, where I still reside and work to this day, taking part in numerous projects such as Cherry & the Ladies, Eva Ryjlen, Gallos, Purple Lemon, The Stickless, La Banda de Late Motiv, as a member of the house band in multiple jam sessions (Sala Juglar, Wurlitzer Ballroom, Marula, Sala BarCo…), Rockin’ Girls, Trebor, Lino Suricato, Hafa, Tongo, Shrizz & the Kiddz, Bluesas, Ladies in Blues, Raquel García & Cía, Traste3, Yorch… In 2021, after the Covid hiatus, which I took advantage of by spending time in Jerez learning some flamenco, I started getting calls to tour with artists such as Aitana, Alba Reche, Nat Simons, Cris Méndez, Juicy BAE, Blas Cantó, Juan Rozoff, Beatriz Luengo, Lichis, Marilia Monzón, Lorena Gómez, Marilia (Ella Baila Sola), Conchita, Cherie Currie (The Runaways), Loquillo… and also to collaborate with artists such as Kiko Veneno, etc.

Since 2023, I have been part of the house band for Cadena 100 Por Ellas, an event held each year at the Wizink Center.

Making History

In 2022, a photo of me was part of an exhibition at the Córdoba Guitar Festival called *Guitarras con Ñ*, alongside some of the most important guitarists in Spanish-speaking history. In 2023, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Coldplay playing “Sparks” with the Lap Steel during their four concerts in Coimbra.

Current Projects and Near Future

At the moment, I am in the process of composing, arranging, and demoing my songs.
